Dehydration and incorrect sports outfits

06 Dec 2018 15:29 By Medics Australia

As Health Care Professionals responsible for First Aid, many of the Medics in our Schools Division are reporting dangerously high levels of dehydration amongst students participating in School Sport while unnecessarily wearing skins (boys and girls, all ages) .

Skins are essentially warm up garments, the muscles overheat during the game and take fluid from the body to cool.

Skins are invariably a fashion item during sport and are  not conducive to students' well being.
